About us
Introduction
I am Diego Montoya, a student from tenth-grade in Liceo HHC Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer. I am volunteering in WordPress as part of my graduation requirements of doing thirty hours of student community service. This website is a blog of my journey through the WrodPress Credits program with weekly posts.
History
In 2026, I reached tenth-grade in highschool. Iwas very excited about it until they told us, students from tenth-grade, we had to do forty hours of student community service. Months passed and teachers had not told us anything about the community service, so everyone was worried because we had to do a lot of time doing an activity and the deadline was getting near. It was not until May they finally gave us our personal portafolios. However, I was very worried because I had not had though what to do to complete the portafolio. I asked my Social Studies teacher, one of the three teachers in charge of the community service, what could I do, so he told me that te highschool was associating a “coding company” that year. My passion for technology invited me to wait the chance of joining that company. On May the 27th, my previous Science teacher called me and other students interested in the program to her classroom to have a meeting with our mentor. She introduced us to the program, but we had not started anything yet. On June the 25th, we had another meeting with her and we finally started the program, creating our accounts and joining the WP Credits program. Since then, I am slowly completing the lessons and creating this website.
Mission
Our objective is to contribute to the global community of WordPress by traslating to other languages, writting code, finding and solving bugs, update documentation, trying new functions before they are released, designing interfaces, improving the users experience and helping and moderating in the community’s forums.
Vision
This website is just one step to my future. I may have a bigger website in the future related to contents and themes I really appreciate. I may also get more involved with WordPress and maybe become a bigger member!
Values
WordPress and this website value respect, tolerance, honesty and creativity. We also value sharing with other people as well as being sympathetic and generous. Helping others is a way to improve the world.
